Download الفصول الأربعة – calendar, seasons, weather, astronomy, bird migration, agricultural seasons, star calendar, Arabian Peninsula, astronomical calendar, Khalid Al-Zuaq
Overview
الفصول الأربعة is a distinctive desktop calendar application designed to track the changing seasons through an astronomical lens rooted in traditional knowledge from the Arabian Peninsula. Unlike conventional calendars, this software integrates celestial observations—specifically star positions—with seasonal transitions, offering users a unique way to align their daily lives with natural rhythms. The app is particularly useful for individuals interested in weather patterns, agricultural planning, and bird migration cycles.
It serves as both a practical tool and an educational resource, especially for those in regions where seasonal changes significantly impact farming, travel, and outdoor activities. The software leverages the astronomical calendar developed by Khalid Al-Zuaq, which differs from the standard Gregorian calendar in its calculation of seasonal start dates. Users can choose between the common calendar and the astronomical calendar within the app’s settings, allowing for flexibility based on personal or cultural preference.
This dual-calendar system enables accurate seasonal predictions tied to real star sightings. The app notifies users when a new season begins, triggered by the appearance of specific stars, making it a valuable aid for seasonal planning. While the developer did not provide additional system requirements, the application is available for both Windows and Mac platforms, indicating broad accessibility.
Real-world usage scenarios include farmers preparing for planting seasons, birdwatchers tracking migration, and educators teaching about traditional ecological knowledge.
Key Features & Capabilities
- Star-Based Season Detection: The app determines the beginning of each season based on the visibility of specific stars, following the traditional astronomical calendar of the Arabian Peninsula.
- Seasonal Notifications: Users receive timely alerts when a new season begins, triggered by the first appearance of designated stars in the night sky.
- Weather and Rainfall Insights: Detailed information about seasonal weather conditions and expected rainfall patterns is provided for each season.
- Agricultural Season Tracking: The software offers guidance on optimal planting and harvesting times based on seasonal cycles.
- Bird Migration Data: Integrated data on migratory bird patterns associated with seasonal changes helps users anticipate bird sightings.
- Calendar Customization: Users can switch between the Gregorian calendar and the astronomical calendar developed by Khalid Al-Zuaq for date calculations.
These features support users in planning outdoor activities, managing agricultural schedules, and understanding ecological patterns. For example, a farmer in a region with seasonal rainfall might use the app to determine the best time to sow crops based on star sightings and predicted rain. Similarly, a nature enthusiast could use the bird migration feature to plan birdwatching trips during peak migration periods.
The ability to toggle between calendars ensures that users can maintain alignment with both modern and traditional timekeeping systems. The app’s design emphasizes accuracy in astronomical calculations and cultural relevance, making it a unique tool in the productivity category. The developer did not specify additional functionality beyond these core capabilities, but the integration of celestial data with practical applications demonstrates a thoughtful approach to software design.
User Interface, Workflow & Performance
The user interface of الفصول الأربعة appears to be designed with clarity and functionality in mind, focusing on intuitive navigation for seasonal tracking. While specific UI elements such as menus, icons, or layout structure were not detailed, the app likely presents a clean calendar view with visual cues indicating seasonal transitions. Navigation is expected to be straightforward, allowing users to access seasonal data, notifications, and calendar settings with minimal effort.
The workflow centers around selecting a preferred calendar system, enabling notifications, and reviewing seasonal forecasts. Users can expect a responsive experience, though exact performance metrics such as CPU or RAM usage were not provided. The developer did not specify resource usage details, so performance observations are based on general software behavior patterns.
Stability is assumed to be consistent given the app’s lightweight size of 12.5 MB, which suggests efficient code and minimal system overhead. The application is designed to run in the background, delivering timely notifications without disrupting other tasks. No reports of crashes or errors were mentioned, but real-world user experiences are not available.
Overall, the workflow supports a seamless integration into daily routines, particularly for users who value seasonal awareness and natural cycles.
Compatibility & System Requirements
الفصول الأربعة is available for both Windows and Mac operating systems, offering broad accessibility across major desktop platforms. The software version is 1.0, indicating a stable initial release. The installation size is 12.5 MB, which is relatively small and suggests a lightweight application with minimal storage demands.
The developer did not specify exact system requirements, such as minimum processor speed, RAM, or disk space, so users should ensure their devices meet general desktop software standards. Compatibility information was partially provided, with no mention of older OS versions or specific hardware configurations. It is recommended to check the official source for any updates or compatibility notes before installation.
The app’s small file size and cross-platform availability suggest it is optimized for modern desktop environments. Users should confirm their system meets the necessary prerequisites for running third-party applications, especially when using newer OS versions. The lack of detailed system specifications means users may need to rely on trial installation to verify functionality on their specific hardware.
